The toughest part may be shopping for the items. Lots of things are already out of stock in stores. But everything can be made from scratch with air dry clay. And I have seen lots of stuff still available online.
My first step is getting my house design on wood. I use tempered hardboard. I like that material because it doesn't warp. It's 1/8" thick and comes in sheets 2' x 4'. I get mine from Home Depot.
After I draw out my design I cut it out with a scroll saw.
