Chandelier Tutorial

I wanted to show you how I make my little chandeliers. So here is a simple tutorial. You can take these little chandeliers as far as you want with details. This is just how they all start out.
First, I cut 5 pieces of wire for the arms. You can use the number you like. These are from 22 gauge wire. You can use thicker wire if you want a different look. 22 works well if you want to string seed beads to make a crystal chandelier.
These are about 5 inches long. The length will depend on how big you need the chandeliers to be.
I curled all 5 wires around a paint bottle.
I made a tighter curl at the end with pliers.
This is a long bead. This step is not necessary, but it does make things easier. I use battery operated lights that come in a complete kit with instructions. I get them from Mainly Minis. There are several different kits. http://www.dollhouseminiatures.net/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&zenid=272252cd06dadd99f2baa76840e72993&keyword=led+lights available.

The string of the light fits in the bead. And the bead helps when you glue the wires.
I use hot glue for this step to instantly glue things together. I then go back and put an industrial super glue on every hot glued point for extra strength.
I painted the whole thing white for a shabby chic look.
For the candle/bulb part I use these jewelry making findings that you can buy at the craft store. The candle parts are beads.
Here's a picture of the light kit and the candles are glued onto the arms. The bigger jewelry circle is the medallion that you can use on the ceiling.
You can use flowers to embellish. I've also used bows in the past. To make the bulb part on top of the candle I put a drop of hot glue and hold the candle upside down while it dries. Then I touch the tip of the bulb with the hot glue gun nozzle to create a tip.

That's it!

  20. Thanks Caroline, a great tutorial. On my blog there is a post dated 15 April 2010 which has a link in it to Evan Designs, the manufacturer of your LED kit. I haven't purchased from them myself (yet) but everyone who has says their service is fantastic. They've even replaced a bulb, free of charge, that someone broke (can't remember who now) during installation.

With a lack of public funding, these facilities are facing an uphill battle. Although the Access Act addresses the issue of censorship, there is no way to eliminate it completely. Despite these challenges, legal protections for clients should seek or provide adequate protection for these services. For more information on reproductive medicine, read on.
