La Belle Maison Custom Dollhouse

call my new custom dollhouse "La Belle Maison."
I designed and built this dollhouse from scratch.  It's 12"wide x 16 3/4" tall x 12 1/2" deep.
I used wood I found at Michael's for most  of the structure.
The siding is pine shingles and birch wood siding.
I found a weathervane in the fairy garden department at Hobby Lobby.
To do the walkway, I applied a generous amount of white glue and patted down sand. This is candle filler sand. The grass is a moss mat(see my resources page for links). It comes with a sticky back.
This side of the house is concrete. The base of the house is also concrete.

I made all the furniture inside.

I looked at a Pottery Barn Kids bed for inspiration. For the bedside table I googled vintage nightstand and combined a couple of designs.

This dollhouse will be available in my Etsy shop: CinderellaMoments.etsy.com

Caroline

  1. It is beautiful, Caroline! I love, and let me always amazed with the expertise you Cirta and the woods to join the houses, and to say to your furniture, stairs, the boiling pot ... is a genius! is impressive, all the ... is that I just love!

  3. Oh my dear girl! You almost *sniff* made me cry for the sheer delight that has come from your heart. Wow! Every bit of this dreamy cottage is pure imagination from the land where really good stories come from. Do you know what I mean? I can hardly describe it. But pure magic!

  9. Well, Carolin, I believe you have outdone yourself yet again. I think my favorite bit is of all things the little white bottle brush tree under the dome. So cute. I need to figure out my own. And I love the warmth of the fireplace. My miniature project is on hold until after the holidays. I worked on the house so much, that I am enjoying the break. I have been making dresses for the 18 inch dolls for the little girls on my gift list. Merry Christmas.

  10. Charming is a good start I think. You do exquisite work Caroline. Love the walkway & the little pail with "water" in it. Love the streaming pot & the cozy fire. Did you make the little wire basket on the white long table? I have a thing for baskets & containers. Well done, very well done.

    1. Hi Deb! I did not make that basket. I found it at Michael's. But I think it would be pretty easy to make if you could find grid wire or screen. It would be a nice project to research. I love baskets too. They bring something of realism into a space. Thank you so much for all your comments. I love reading them!

  20. Oh my, oh my...every time I think you can't possibly outdo yourself, you do! Every little detail is just amazing, and that fireplace!!! I love your little window coverings:) Our Hobby Lobby doesn't seem to have a miniature garden supply area, they don't have much in the way of miniatures at all:(

Thank you for all the inspiration Caroline! I've wanted a dollhouse for so long and it wasn't until I discovered your blog that I felt truly inspired to do it! In fact, I told Kyran I may need an entire room for mini's someday:)

Have a wonderful Christmas my friend and I look forward to what you come up with for 2016!!! Hugs!
