That's right I finished it!
I made the roof with cardboard with the top layer ripped off to expose the ridges. I wanted to put metal on, but the look just wasn't the same. This roof looks so much more aged and rustic. I just love it!
I decided to put a pink bottle brush tree in there too. You can never be too early for Christmas!
This little welcome mat is a rectangle of felt with painted dots. Very simple!
This one is available at CinderellaMoments on Etsy.

Frog's Cottage Custom Dollhouse
It took a bit of time but the bricks are finally painted!
I will be aging the outside next.
And I added a tiny surprise by the front door!
Can you see it? Come closer...
It's a Fairy Door! I don't know where I come up with these things. I guess painting each little brick one at a time makes the brain wander into total nuttiness! LOL!

The New Dollhouse: Frog's Cottage
Time for a new dollhouse. I'm naming this one Frog's Cottage. And it will be another fairytale style house. No frog's involved though!
This is my inspiration. I found this on the web I think it's on Frog Island or something like that. Hence my chosen name. I love the atmosphere here. My dollhouse will not be a replica. But I do want to capture the essence of this place. The bricks are amazing. I love the roof too. But I might mix it with a thatched roof.
Here's the start of this house. I used the Buttercup kit. I took the front entry wall and moved it back to get a front porch. I'm also taking out windows and changing the round windows to squares.
This is the fireplace. It is a walk-in fireplace. I thought that would be fitting for an old storybook cottage!
Here you can see just how big this fireplace will be in the house.
I already plastered the 3 walls and placed the window sashes.
Now that I made the stones around the fireplace I can paint it and glue the wall in place.

Cinderella's Fairytale Cottage Custom Dollhouse
I finished the "tin" tiles for the ceiling. The best way to add the color is with your finger I've found. I used silver for the tin showing through and a golden brown for the rust effect.
And there it is in place. The walls are a blush of pink. It is a very pale effect. I did the fireplace mantle in gray. and the wood floors cream.
The attic floor is gray, the walls are cream and the attic ceiling is white-washed.
I did the turret concrete and the plaster walls. I also worked on the roof edge.
