Brick and Stone Miniature Custom Commisioned House

I just finished another custom miniature house for Rachel. She's sending it to her mom. This is a traditional newer home. I made the bricks and stones from concrete. It makes the house very sturdy!


I only had one picture to work from but hopefully I got the details right?!

The front door area was a little tricky because it's such a tight spot to work in.

Primitive Style Miniature House Pumpkin Color

Here's my new little house. This was is very simple. It's a deep pumpkin color. Very fall like! I styled it after the salt box houses. I love that primitive/folk art look. It's available at my etsy shop.




The little door knob is metal. I made the door by layering planks.
I put each plank of siding on one at a time. It just looks more like a real house that way.

Those are 2 roofs of my new candy/ gingerbread houses. I'll post them as soon as they're done. I have to do candy research!!!! :D

Lynn's Miniature Custom Commissioned House

This is a house I made for Lynn, a facebook friend. She had it made for her son and daughter-in-law's Christmas gift.


It's mostly made out of paper products(cardboard). Everything is totally original. I don't have templates or prefab pieces. I just draw everything out, measure what I'd like the finished product to be and start cutting cardboard!

I start out making the floor plan. Then I stick on walls and the roof. Next I measure out the siding and cut each plank out. I do the same for the roof shingles. Next I tackle the windows. These are probably the most tedious part of the project. I actually make each little separations between the "glass". Then I use a super gloss to give a shiny look to the windows.



This was my first dog request! It's hard to see, but it's a little black dog statue. The pots have cabbages in them. The door has molding just like the real one.









The chimney and vent are concrete covered with bricks carved in.

Halloween Haunted Mini House

This is a large Halloween Haunted Mansion I made as a centerpiece for a party a couple years ago.

It was very easy to create a spooky house. The house is covered in a sand and paint mix. It gave it a great texture.


Like all my houses, this is made entirely of cardboard.

The webs are just hot glue gun strings.

The black cat is foam I've cut out. The pumpkins are from the craft store. But I painted faces on the Jack-O'-Lanterns.

I painted all the little scenes in each window. There's a witch creating spells in her cauldron, broken windows,books, pumpkins, mummies, Frankenstein, a skeleton, a spooky stairway, spiders and eyes...
tI made all the tiny leaves, but also used real dry vegetation and twigs. It was a lot of fun making all the details!

Mousequerade!

Here's my latest Halloween decoration available at my Etsy store! It's a little mouse dressed up like a vampire. Every inch is hand sewn and the fabric is hand dyed.


This is just a simple paper sign I made by ripping pieces and gluing them back together then antiquing it.
I made the trick or treat bag by cutting a simple cross pattern then gluing up the sides and added handles. The candy corn is actually paper pulp I shaped in the pyramid shape, then covered with a concrete mix I had left from another project.

I put netting material under his tattered cape so he looks like he's flying trough the midnight air! I didn't make the pumpkin, though. I had to use a store bought one because I didn't like the way mine turned out.

To make the base, I used a ribbon spool that I covered with a coordinating upholstery trim. It made the whole piece super steady!

French Villa Miniature House

My latest cottage is this French Villa style with stucco and stone.. Great roof with lots of character.

This house is made entirely of cardboard. The shingles are individually cut, shaped and painted.
I had to move the fireplace to the front of the house. On the real house it is much further back since the house is so deep.
Each window has a frame, molding, sill, and mullion individually applied.
The front door and garage door are also framed. They are built just like the real doors. Layer after layer for great dimension.



The house is covered with concrete mix. The front of the house is sculpted to look like Austin stone

This is the first house I've had the architect's plans for. It was a wonderful help! Wish more
people had them!

Tudor Mini Cottage House

This is my latest cottage! It's a little Tudor style house. I saw Mel Gibson's cottage online. It looked so charming and welcoming that I decided to do my own version!



This one above is Mel Gibson's. It's really cute!

My version is a little different. I did the stones and bricks out of concrete which I sculpted while wet.
Can't have a cottage without a red rose vine.
I make the little pots myself. They're pretty easy. I just cut a strip of cardboard,glue it, paint it. Then I add the hand dyed paper leaves and flowers one at a time.
Here's the roof. I like layering the colors to give it an old world look. The shingles are also put on one at a time. They look more real that way.
