The Lakehouse Custom Dollhouse

I am done with The Lakehouse dollhouse!

This house is 14 1/2" tall x 13 3/4" wide x 14 1/4" deep. I got the design from Kim Saulter's Instagram picture: https://www.instagram.com/p/9uj5Y6IjCW/I loved the quaint & adorable look of it!  So I went to work cutting out my design.
I thought of it as a little cabin you would own on a lake.
There are 2 rooms: a living room and a bedroom.
I picked happy and bright colors for the interior.
For the picture above the mantel I printed out a Modigliani portrait. It has a very distinctive look and style that I thought  would bring a little modern into the room.
In the entry I made a very thin profile armoire.
I used different wallpapers all around the room.
For the bedroom I kept the green wainscoting all around the room. But I used fabric above it on 2 walls.
There's a ledge/cubby hole above the front window.

The LED light switches for the lights and mantel "fire" are hidden in the chimney.
This house is available in my Etsy shop. I hope you enjoyed your visit! Thank you so much for taking a look. Have a beautiful day!
hugs,

    1. Hi! :) I bought these little pots. They are for those fairy gardens. I bought them at a local shop but I've seen tons on Ebay. Just type in fairy garden clay pots.

  14. Oh, this is just too adorable! I can envision a tiny couple in there, sitting on the front porch after some fishing:) You never fail to amaze us with your talent!!!

I'm just finishing a huge Greenleaf dollhouse for my nieces, it was my mom's but she never built it so she shipped it to my brother, it sat in his attic for about a decade and he brought it to me when they came in Dec. My hands are trashed from working on it but it's been so much fun! When it's done I'm starting a tiny one, The Madison by Greenleaf...you got me hooked!!!

  23. The lake cabin is perfect. I always enjoy the detail that you give your houses. For this one, I like the little boat on the porch. I can see it sea side on South Padre Island or at the edge of Lake Conroe, perhaps. Or better yet, near the shore of my husband's favorite mountain lake here in Colorado. Close to home. Oh, I could keep dreaming. And thanks again for visiting the Blue Farmhouse. I haven't done much work on it at all since before Christmas. I need to find wallpaper for a music room. And thank you for your comment on the little dresses. I started sewing as a child and sewed for my own daughters. Sewing little doll dresses is easy and fun--if one sews. So what's your next project? Can't wait to see.

  27. Struth Caroline....your gorgeous lakehouse is not only beautiful but also totally BELIEVEABLE...so much so that l can almost see myself sitting on a deck chair out front with a wine and a rod in the water, (hopefully there's no fish cos l wouldn't know what to do with it if l caught it haha). Your attention to detail as always is stunning...l've been admiring the wee chandy's, the little tray on the bed, the lace covered chair and are they antlers hanging on the wall of the bedroom...amazing.Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to at least think about trying to create something awesome.

  33. This is just amazingly adorable! I would love to have a tiny lake cabin just like this.

I wondered - is there a problem with copyright in using the Modigliani picture? I try to use my own pictures or craft papers, but I also tear things out of books. Not sure if that's a problem when selling those items.

  35. Hi Caroline,
This house is so cute. Love the door. Did you make it yourself? Also I think the shingles on the front of the house add a quaint touch and the tree on the side is lovely.

    1. Hi Amy! I did make the door on the Lakehouse. The hard part is hanging the door. I don't love hinges. I do like a pin through the top and bottom of a frame better. But making the door itself is a lot of fun.

      Caroline
