A Pocket Full of Wishes A Basket Full of Fishes Custom Dollhouse

Here is A Pocket Full of Wishes A Basket Full of Fishes Custom Dollhouse all done.
The design is the same as the Shabby Chic Dollhouse. I just changed the porch and added a bump out. Inside the loft is now a full story.

I actually found this adorable trim for the porch at Hobby Lobby. It's in the dollhouse section.

The little flower above the window is in the wood craft section. You get a few of them per bag.  They work great. Just the right size.
This time to make the bricks we used plaster. Out next house needs bricks and we wanted to see how they looked in plaster instead of concrete. They look very neat and tidy. Easy Peasy!

There it is! It's Marsha's house of Tumble Fish Studios. I'm sure she will turn it into a magical place.
Thanks for visiting. The next dollhouse, also commissioned, is a little bigger than my usual houses. Until next time!
hugs,

  1. Ooooo! Another beauty! I love the little porch and the welcoming screened door. So precious! Great find with that trim on the front porch. Hobby Lobby! And expanding your horizons with plaster......I am always amazed at how you teach yourself new tricks of the trade. This house is delightful and fun. I know Marsha will be thrilled.

  9. I tried to comment on the previous post & it wouldn't post, trying again. I love the fish wallpaper & I especially love that you gave it a screen door. The trim is cute also. What did you use for the "corrugated" tin porch roof? Also, I was wondering if you could refresh my memory as to what you use for the walls? The actual dollhouse framework?

    1. Yes! It's tempered hardboard. And the ridged cardboard is in the scrapbook section. It comes in brown and sometimes you can find white.

  10. I have finally read your whole blog from start to finish in preparation for building my first Shabby Chic dollhouse from your book. I do have one question for you, however. Can you enlighten me as to how you build your ladders? I have a heck of a time getting everything perfectly cut so it will stand up, and glued so it doesn't fall apart. A tutorial, maybe?

    1. Wow! That's incredible. I use hot glue to hold the ladder together as I build it. Just a tiny dot will do. So you would take one of the 2 long sides and glue all of your treads on. use a tiny bit of the hot glue to adhere it to the long side with the rest being white glue or wood glue. The other long side will be much easier. No need for hot glue. Just lay the long piece onto the long treads and let dry. No touching! I have a hard time with that. LOL! They will never be perfect. You are not a machine. And that's what gives your dollhouse charm.
