Butterfly Cottage Dollhouse

Butterfly Cottage is coming along like I planned.  The interior is rustic like a tree house or club house with many old boards.  They are actually craft sticks- jumbo and regular. I then aged them with a mix of black, brown and mostly water. It makes an aging wash that does not cover the wood grain.
One wall is covered with layers of "old" wallpaper.
After picking out pieces of wallpaper, I painted the entire wall with white glue. I put on my first piece and waited a few seconds for it to get wet from the glue. Then I moved it around until I had some wrinkles. I also scratched some places with my nail to make rips.
I kept repeating the same thing with each layer.  I didn't stay true to the layers though. You could get technical and make sure the layers position corresponds to each other like they were layered on over time. I didn't bother.
Here it is all done. Then I glued the wall in place.
I'm also making a few pieces of furniture. 
I made this bed to look a little like Italian Tole beds except mine is wood. Till next time! Thanks for coming over! hugs♥

    That bed...that tiny bed!!! It's absolutely amazing! The ripped peeling wallpaper is genius! I am in awe...AGAIN...of your talent and creativity!

    The bed is gorgeous (especially with the little bird on it), the chair is gorgeous and I love the effect of the ripped wallpaper. I look forward to seeing what else you have in mind for Butterfly cottage. A butterfly perhaps?

    Hi Caroline! I love this wallpaper technique! I am going to have to remember your method of achieving it, it looks like a lot of fun! I think that your little bed is ADORABLE!!! to the Max! I think that you have painted and decorated it to look like a fairy tale and I would love to see how it will look, once it is in the bedroom. A truly inspiring cottage build, Caroline and I love the way it is developing.

    Не смотря на то, что дом обветшалый, дом остается светлый и нежный. Много слоев обоев говорит о том, какой старый дом. Мне нравятся старые доски.Мне нравится кусочек оборванных обоев. а под ним видны другие обои.
    Ваша мебель очаровательна! Представляю, как будет уютно в этом стареньком домике!

    Love everything! The mashup of wallpapers will add great texture to the mini space. I really enjoy the chair and the moss in the pots. :)

    Incredible Caroline!! Just my style too! Love your wallpaper idea..it worked out perfect. Did you use different washes for the wall and ceiling?? Also is it possible for you to say where we can get a chair like yours? Did you make it? It is all wonderful, can't wait to see it finished!
