Custom Christmas Gingerbread Bakery Dollhouse Build

Let's get into a little Christmas spirit! I'm going to show you how I make gingerbread dollhouses. Start to finish. This is going to be a gingerbread bakery.  This is a commission for Darby. Thanks Darby!

The toughest part may be shopping for the items. Lots of things are already out of stock in stores. But everything can be made from scratch with air dry clay. And I have seen lots of stuff still available online.

My first step is getting my house design on wood. I use tempered hardboard. I like that material because it doesn't warp. It's 1/8" thick and comes in sheets 2' x 4'. I get mine from Home Depot.

After I draw out my design I cut it out with a scroll saw.

Now it's time to glue the house together. I start by using hot glue. Use a professional hot glue gun. It gets hotter. The seams are indestructible with this stuff. But for added security I use wood glue in the seams.

The next thing to do is your floors. I use popsicle sticks glued in place. The ceiling also gets covered with wood slats. These are clapboard siding.

That's it for now. Come back to see the next part of this build!
hugs,
