I'm starting to put the siding on the house. I used cardboard with the top layer ripped off. I butter the house with concrete and then stick on the siding. This makes the house strong for shipping.
Inside everything is white. I put the Swiss dot lace curtains in already. And the chandeliers are all wired in place.
I'm also working on the Ballerina Cottage. I tried to age the mirrors. No luck yet. I think I'll have to go the traditional road with paint thinner and Drano splatters or maybe bleach. I'll let you know which works.
Concrete? do you use concrete to this dreaming little house? how cold yo...?ReplyDelete
I Love the curtains in this sweet little cottage!ReplyDelete
Everything looks so beautiful!! That chandelier is so so so cute!! Do you mind if I´ll try to make same kind of chandelier to my house? It is so cute! :) Snowy greetings from Finland!ReplyDelete
Quelle maison de rêve!! Le lustre est superbe!!ReplyDelete
That's so funny that you describe the application of the concrete layer as 'buttering' since I think this concrete stuff is the best thing since sliced bread!! (All puns intended!!)ReplyDelete
For good info on how to age a mini mirror (or a big one I guess) go to Margaret's blog 'My Petite Parterre' (link below) - look for Margaret's comment dated 5 Nov on the post that this link goes to -ReplyDelete

Looking great as always, love the dottie swiss curtains. Hope you find a way to do the mirrors.....but I am sure you will. Neat how you are doing the siding..........so clever.
Hope you are enjoying the New Year....we are still celebrating over here..........I should have taken down my Christmas decor this weekend but just decided to wait till tomorrow to start~!!

Happy New Year. We are having the strangest weather in our area. We go to the 60's, to the 40;s and then lower, but no snow yet. Have a great week. Your Missouri Friend.
how very clever! I never would have thought of doing something like that for a doll house..you're so crafty!ReplyDelete
