I decided to paint the outside of the Kotton Kandy dollhouse. I wanted to give it a Gustavian Swedish style. So I mixed black, blue and white paint to get a deep gray color.
I already added some aging effects with cream, golden brown and tan.
I also painted the windows. First, with a coat of white and then some cream and gray.
I painted the upstairs window to get a little bit of a stain glass look. I kept it very simple without color. First, I painted the design on with black paint and then I used silver.
I got the idea for these colors in a magazine. I just loved the contrast of the gray and white.
I used the shutter color as my house color.
I'll use the light gray on the porch floor.
Your little house is coming along very nicely. I like the color you chose to give it the weathered look or that is what I will call it. I will be anxious to watch it progress. Have a wonderful weekend. Ours has been rainy and very cool. Your Missouri Friend.

This little house is looking VERY nice! I have always loved the color Gray..... LOL.. most people just think it is drab! Now I am thinking I may have to use Gray on my Lovely Old Dollhouse....!
ReplyDeleteI love your choice of colours. I also love the windows that came with this kit. I am enjoying your building process and await patiently the next installment.
ReplyDeleteDitto to all of the above, well maybe not Ascension's comment, as I didn't understand a word of it ;)
