Gypsy Travel Trailer Dollhouse

I finished the day bed and I also made this long piece of furniture. In the real Magnolia Pearl trailer it has drawers, but mine will be more simple.

The day bed has lots of trims, a back roll pillow, and I put a velvet strawberry on there too.

I added some rust to the headboard.

I put a funky trim around the window on the side. And it has a pink "roman shade."

This is the chandelier in the middle of the caravan. I used all different colors and kinds of beads for the true gypsy look.

I haven't fixed it in place yet. That's why it looks crooked.

In the Magnolia Pearl there's a yoyo throw on the daybed. So I decided to try one. I cut out 7/8" diameter circles out of different fabrics. Then I did a running stitch along the circle and pulled the string and  stitched it closed. It made these scrunched up little flower looking things. I think they work. Now it'll just take me 20 or 30 years to finish this throw!

The bathtub dilemma: I can't find the right tub! Some are too small, too big, too short, too wrong! So I tried one out...

This is papier mache with plaster on top. It's half way done. I don't know if I will finish it. I went looking for something else and found this little pan...
I might try this out. Add feet and a weathered finish. You know of course I'll have to finish both and see which looks better. They need faucets which I'll make out of wire. I wanted to fill them with "water" but I hear the resin heats up a lot. So the first tub would definitely crack.

  1. This is such a fun project!! Finding a 'different' kind of mini bath is so very very difficult, I think the tub you found has definate possibilities. Good luck with it :)

  4. Hi Caroline,
    Thanks for dropping by tonight!!
Good to hear from you. So you have 2 cats and 2 dogs, wow, do the kitties and doggies get along??? Hope so!!

Wow, you are really duplicating this well I have to say, I was wondering what inspired this, but then I went to your post from the day before I guess it was, the one where it showed the real trailer. Oh My, what a house on wheels that is!! I have to say it is a lil over the top for me!! lol, but you are doing a great job on all the details. I will be interested to see how the square pan works out once you fix it all up and paint it, bet it will look great. I like the other tub as well, either will probably look great.
Keep up the good work my dear.
    Blessings, Nellie

  9. Hi Caroline, Thanks for stopping by! I pray the show does well. I really need it too. If you go to this Heritage Village Link They show pics of in & out of the buildings. Food for thought for you. You can turn a plain old building into really spectacular.
    Like this Trailer...you smarty!
I love the metal best for the tub. Armiture wire would make great faucets..great idea!
