Sweetheart Cottage Pink Queen Anne

               Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's my contribution to this sweet holiday. This little cottage is small at 6 7/8" tall, but it has all the details!

 

Here's the front porch with the essential Victorian potted palm(handmade) and the "crystal" door knob.

I painted the underside of the porch blue.

Miniature Graceland House

I've finished Graceland! Think Elvis would have liked his house as a miniature?   This mini Graceland is made of a cardboard base and finished with concrete carved into stones.

The columns are also concrete. I made them by first rolling cardboard into shape. adding little pieces at the top to make the acanthus leaf detail. Then covered all of them with my concrete mix.

The back is white just like the real house.

The little globe light was a challenge! I had to make it with papier machee that I covered with plaster and painted. 

I added the little green security door, but I left out all the other security screens. It would have looked much too distracting.

A Little bit of Alsace!

Another mini paper house completed! I love Alsace!  I was born very close to this french region. It is very much influenced by German style.  Many of the houses there have hand painted designs that adorn the outside.  This is not unique to Alsace , this cottage could be Swiss, Polish, Austrian...

The designs are very simple.  I decided to do an in-lay door. I glued each piece one by one. 

Most houses have multi-colored roofs. 

I added all the little trims to make it as sweet as could be! The siding is individual slats. 

1937 Colonial Revival Miniature House/Model

Here's my newly finished house.  It comes from a picture I found in a Veranda Magazine. I thought it looked too cute to pass up!

 All the windows have each little pane divided and each shutter has little louvers.

There's even a little house for birds!  

 

The Chimney and front step Are made of light weight concrete carved to look like little bricks. 

I made each of the pots. The leaves and flowers are paper I dyed then cut into shape and glued in my little pots.

 

 

The siding is put on one piece at a time, overlapping like real siding. The shingles too are cut out one by one and each laid down in a pattern. The little bird house has its roof done in the same manner.

Large Romantic Shabby Chic Pink Roses Original Painting

I finished my rose painting! The background is truly shabby chic. It is a light gray sage. And the roses are each pink with different accents; in some I used a bright pink, or a hot pink, red, and terra cotta. So each rose despite having the exact same color is totally different from another. But the continuity of pink is marvelously harmonious.





 I painted all different kinds of roses; heirloom roses, cabbage roses, wild roses...

Above and below is the painting before I added the darker middle and extra leaves.

This is my favorite rose on this painting.

My New Project: Shabby Chic Roses Original Painting

I'm painting roses! I love painting roses . It took me a few tries before I figured out the secret to painting roses. I could still improve of course! This painting is pretty big: 24" x 48". It's the perfect size for putting over a bed.

I've only got a few roses on so far. I usually average 3 roses a day.

I think this painting will be loaded with a massive amount of roses, mostly pink.

I'll post more of the progress later this week. Just wanted to share what my paintings start off looking like!

Miniature Cottage House: Virginia History

I saw this house in a Veranda magazine and I loved the colors. It looked so cozy and sweet.

This house is totally covered in light weight concrete. I carved the stones and bricks and made the ridges in the metal roof before it set.

I left the gate open for you! Each window has individual little dividers I glued on one at a time.


I love the traditional double chimneys.

Large 3' x 4' Red Fairytale Deer Original Acrylic Hand Painted Painting

This is a deer I had to make twice! This lighter red deer looks more like a fairytale deer. It's available at etsy or at www.cinderellamoments.tk
It is $429 with free U.S. shipping. At 36" x 48" he is a very large painting.



This darker deer has already been sold. It went so quickly that I didn't have time to enjoy him! I might have to redo a dark one again.

My Version of Putz Paper Houses

I made these houses a year ago. I wanted to try out these designs I saw in every store. They were very easy to make. I didn't use a template, I just free handed the designs on cardboard. So they are not like the paper pulp originals.


The snowmen are paper pulp. And the balls on the tree are from a Victorian style bead garland I cut apart.


Then lots and lots of glitter and they were done!


I made these trees from wrapping a garland of paper I painted and cut. These are all about 12" to 15" tall.

Paper House for Christmas

This is my Christmas house. It has snow, wreaths,snowmen and snowballs.It is made of cardboard and other paper products.



This shot shows the 2 snowmen up close. I made them from paper pulp. I added twigs and made a hat.


Here are some poinsettia pots on the porch.

Every window has a wreath that is entirely handmade from paper I painted and cut out. Then I added a red bow and painted a lit candle.
